Hi Voltaire,
If this is a mature dog, then it has compensated to this point, in which case all we have to do is restore that ability. I find that decompensation is usually because of discomfort in the SI and gluteal regions. Often there are chiropractic issues there - is there someone handy to you who can evaluate mobility of the two ilea and the sacrum, and restore it if it is lacking? The caudal lumbars are also usually involved.
Points to consider adding to your prescription based upon the above: BL 28 (in the SI joint itself), BL 54 in the gluteal muscle mass dorsal to the trochanter, and GB 30. Maybe also GB 27 below the ileum and cranial to the hind limb, and BL 27 and 26 at the L-S junction.
Wind invasion formulas can help - use whatever suits the dog's presentation: Du Huo Ji Sheng Tang? Yi Yi Ren Tang? Even San Ren Tang if the dog is Damp
If BL 28 or GB 34 normalize the pulse, then use instead Xiao Chai Hu Tang, or Benefit Hips and Knees (Kan).
Hope that helps you out!
Steve
