Elevated ALP In A Dog
by jschell - December 25, 2017    View Case Report
Elevated ALP: He has no signs of Cushing's disease, however he has elevated LDDST suggestive of Cushing's.
We did not start him on Vetosyl.
However, we started him on Si Miao San, but liver enzyms did not improve. He is acting normal.

His ALP is staying in the 1300s evern on Si Miao San. I tried Xiao Yao San and it did not work and Xiao Chai Hu Tang at 1tsb BID but no improvement of ALP.

His crea is above 125 at 148 and his SDMA is 11 (normal)

I was thinking of adding BWDHW for his azotemia.

And, maybe increasing his XCHT to 1.5 tsp BID

What do you think about that plan?

Thank you!
Julie

Hi Julie,

My other 'go-to' with combined renal azotemia and liver enzyme elevation is Yi Guan Jian

Lastly, if the pulse is quite strong and toned, and XCHT doesn't help, I've found some of these dogs do well with Chai Hu Shu Gan San.

So those are two ideas for you

Steve
